Musicolor's Tribute to S D Burman & O P Nayyar
Musicolor organised a grand musical event titled “ The Legends – Hits of S D Burman & O P Nayyar ” at vile parle’s Dinanath Mangeshkar hall. There was a flutter of excitement right from the beginning as the evening reverberated with melodious song gems of the golden era of hindi film music from films like Guide, Kashmir Ki Kali, Kala Pani, Sujata, Baazi, CID, House No 44, Kala Bazaar, Mere Sanam, Kagaz Ke Phool, Chalti Ka Naam Gadi, Baap Re Baap, Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon, Prem Pujari, Naya Daur, Yeh Raat Phir Na Aayegi, Aradhana, Kismat, Baharen Phir Bhi Aayegi, Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye among others. Talented singers like Shrikant Narayan, Sagar Savarkar, Nilima Gokhale and Sarita Rajesh, who spearheads Musicolor, enthralled the packed audience with their spirited rendition. Evergreen compositions like Aap ke haseen rukh pe and Tere mere sapne (Shrikant Narayan), Jalte hain jiske liye (Sagar Savarkar) and Waqt ne kiya ( Sarita Rajesh) rendered straight from the heart struck a chord with the music fans. However, the song which received a thunderous applause was the intricate Hoton pe aisi baat (sung by Sarita Rajesh and Shrikant Narayan), with awesome orchestration by renowned musicians like Deepak Borkar, Vasudeo Mhatre, Vijay Jadhav, Sushil Gangavane, Vijay Tambe, Nandkishore, Praveen Phatak, Nilesh Devasthali and music arranger Ajay Madan. Another significant aspect of the evening was veteran mouthorgan artiste V S Shirali, who left the audience spellbound and screaming for more by playing the blowing instrument in the peppy number ‘Hai apna dil toh awara’ from Solva Saal. The event formally marked the launch of Aarthi Entertainment, who are also involved in the distribution and travel business, into the field of showbiz. The CEO of the company Ganesh Iyer, thanking the audience said in his formal speech that he firmly believed in promoting good melodious music and lavished praises on Musicolor for organising such mellifluous events periodically. On the whole the event turned out to be a very melodious and entertaining affair !
